TACSR Conductor-Thermal Resistant Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced Conductor
TACSR conductors, or Thermal Resistant Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (TACSR) conductors, are designed similarly to conventional ACSR conductors but with Hard Drawn Aluminum wires made from a Heat Resistant Aluminum Alloy (known as TAL). These conductors can operate safely at temperatures above 150℃, allowing for higher current transmission. They are particularly useful in areas like urban centers, coastal regions, or humid environments where there are constraints on building new power transmission corridors. The use of Zirconium-doped aluminum alloy ensures these conductors maintain their electrical and mechanical properties even at elevated temperatures, making them a cost-effective solution for upgrading existing power lines to handle greater capacity.
TACSR (/AW) conductors are employed in overhead electric power transmission lines in urban centers, coastal regions, and humid areas.
